IN PERSON & ONLINE: Mobilizing Anger:  After the “Why?” Now What? | Rev. Dr. Jerry Troyer

You would probably agree that life is so much easier when people behave themselves and do what we want them to do.  Alas, very often that is not the case. So what happens when something happens?  Do we react in resentment, irritation and judgment, maybe even losing sleep?  Do we ever question “why” we get upset, remembering the words of Socrates, “the unexamined life is not worth living”?

When someone’s actions (or inactions) result in our anger, is there a way to turn that into positive action, or do we just deny or minimize and internalize our feelings?

Speaker’s Bio:

Rev. Dr. Jerry Troyer and his late husband, also Jerry, found New Thought in 1992. He served as senior minister of the New Thought Center for Creative Living in San Diego from 2007 to 2016, and was ordained in 2009.

He holds a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate from Emerson Theological Institute.

Rev. Dr. Jerry currently serves as Board President of the Affiliated New Thought Network (ANTN), a membership organization of Centers for Spiritual Living, Unity, Divine Science and independent New Thought centers and churches, as well as individuals.

He serves as Staff Minister for Om Center for Spiritual Living in La Mesa.

Jerry is also a founding board member and currently Director of Relationship Development for Urban Street Angels, an organization in San Diego County that works to end youth homelessness by providing bridge housing, employment and life skills training to homeless transition age youth, ages 18 to 24, in the San Diego area.

He is author of the acclaimed book, “Coming Out to Ourselves: Admitting, Accepting and Embracing Who We Truly Are.”

But Jerry is not serious all the time. He is a Disneyland annual passholder, and enjoys visiting several times a year with his partner, Oliver.

Rev. Dr. Jerry lives in La Mesa with his English Cream Golden Retriever, “Maggie.” His son Brandon and family, including seven grandchildren, live in Oregon.
